Our Story: In 1951, Waldo Crawford founded Crawford Martin Insurance in Livingston, Texas. The agency was housed at 302 N. Washington until May 2016 when it was moved to the present location at 115 W. Polk, Livingston, Texas. Mr. Crawford operated the agency until 1977 when he sold the agency in retirement to Oscar Lee Martin. The agency was renamed Crawford Martin Insurance at that time. Mr. Martin sold the agency to Don and Billie Simpson in 1987 when he retired. Also in 1987, the Simpsons purchased Martin Insurance which was across the courthouse square from Crawford Martin Insurance & merged the two agencies together. Martin Insurance had been in business since 1919. When Don Simpson died in 2000, Billie Simpson and her daughter, Joanna Renée Vailes, continued to operate the full service agency. In 2015, Billie Simpson sold the agency in a merger/acquisition to First State Bank of Livingston. FCFG, Inc. is a subsidiary of First State Bank Livingston. Billie Simpson retired in Dec. 2016. Her daughter, Joanna Renée Vailes, is now President and General Manager of the agency.
